Ironwood Press is a family-owned publishing
company, based in Tucson, Arizona. Our company name is inspired by the
native ironwood tree, Olneya tesota.
Our specialty is publishing gardening
books, particularly for gardeners in California, Arizona, Nevada, New
Mexico and Texas--the arid West. It is our goal to produce up-to-date,
regionalized how-to books that include new approaches to traditional
gardening subjects.
Book titles range from water-conserving landscaping, to
citrus, to pruning, to perennials for the West, to growing and cooking with
herbs. We strive to provide our readers with easy-to-understand information
and include hundreds of color photographs in each of our titles. As a
result, our books help make learning about plants and gardening that much
more enjoyable and successful.
Two new areas of publishing includes cookbooks
and travel guides such as our new Savoring Mexico, and a City Series
of Gardening Guides, beginning with the Tucson
Garden Book and Phoenix
Garden Book.
